Quote only from the approved list
A price that did not come from your price list can bind the company once it is sent. Keep the price column locked to the list, and check every price in every draft against it by script. Anything that is not an exact match is flagged for a person.
Look-alike codes and units
The risky line is the one that looks like another product, or whose unit differs from the list. Build a small set of these from past requests and test with it before trusting the matching. Substitutions should be suggestions in a separate column, never applied.
- Look-alike codes in the test set.
- Unit conflicts flagged.
- Substitutions listed, not applied.
Which paid job fits
The quote-draft job builds a workflow in your own account for one agreed request format, tested on 25 of your past requests, and a monthly version re-tests it as your price list and customers change. A person at your business sends every quote.

- n8n community: estimates for a small request-to-quote prototype, from an intermediary seeking a prototype for a distributor Checked 2026-10-12.
- On 10 Sep 2026 a poster who says they are evaluating developers for electrical parts distributors (development not yet commissioned) sought estimates to read customer quotation requests from one agreed format, initially a text-based PDF, with "Prices must come from the approved data" and "Product substitutions require human approval". Replies include provisional prototype quotes of USD 250, USD 1,500 and USD 1,500–2,500, and EUR 1,800; these are seller estimates, not prices paid.
