Job company-details-added-to-new-leads-with-source · revised 12 October 2026

Add company size and sector to each new lead, with a source for every value

For new leads with a business email, named company fields are written with a source and date, or marked unknown. Free-mail addresses and personal data are left alone.

You might be seeing

  • Reps open a browser tab for every new lead
  • Routing by company size is impossible because the field is empty

No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.

What usually happened

A form that asks only for an email leaves company size, sector and country blank. Looking each one up by hand is slow, and a quick automated fill writes stale or wrong facts into routing fields. Person-level scraping is where the legal and platform risk sits.

Who it’s for: Marketer or sales lead whose form asks only for an email, so reps cannot tell a large firm from a one-person shop.

Usually starts when: Reps spend time looking up every new lead's company by hand before deciding who to call.

The result: For new leads with a business email domain, named company-level fields (industry band, size band, country, website) are written with a source and date, or marked "unknown". Free-mail addresses and person-level data are left untouched.

How we know it’s done

Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.

  1. On 50 past company domains labelled by your team and held back from us until the run, at least 35 get every named field written and right, at most 3 written values are wrong in total, and "unknown" counts as a miss, not as right. Every written value has a source and a timestamp. 35 of 50 shows a true rate of at least 57% with 95% confidence, so this is a smoke test of the rules, not a rate for future leads.

Evidence: The 50 domains with your labels and the results, and a baseline that writes "unknown" everywhere (it must fail).

  2. On synthetic leads, a free-mail address is untouched and an existing value is not overwritten.

Evidence: The synthetic leads before and after.

  3. No person-level field is written for any lead.

Evidence: A field-level change log for the test.

  4. A switch-off by your admin stops writes within one test cycle.

    Evidence: The switch-off test.

Sign-off. You re-run the test yourself, check the list of severe errors and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.

If it fails. If the agreed pass mark is not met, we say so, hand over the results and the failures, and do not call the output working. You do not pay for this scope; we agree whether to stop or re-quote.

When it fits, and when we stop

It fits when

  • Leads arrive with a business email domain
  • You hold the key for any licensed provider, and your licence allows this use
  • Two people on your side label 50 past company domains before the test, and we do not see the labels until the run

We stop and tell you if

  • You want named individuals' details scraped or bought
  • Your provider licence does not allow the use
  • Your two labellers disagree on more than 15% of the 50 domains

What could go wrong

Your admin switches the workflow off in one step. Written values carry a source tag so they can be found and cleared.

Scroll the table sideways to read it all.

RiskHow we handle it
Stale or wrong company facts reach routingEvery value carries a source and a date, unknown is allowed, and wrong values are capped by the pass mark.
A provider's terms are brokenYou hold the key, your licence is checked in writing and the job uses company-level data only.
The workflow writes to the wrong fieldsWrites are limited to named fields and tested with synthetic leads.

A separate automated reviewer checks the results, the source column and the write limits before hand-over, and no person on our side reviews unless your agreement names one. Your named person reviews every written value for the first 14 days after your admin switches it on. At launch the work is largely automated, and we say so.

How we deliver

We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.

  • Agree the fields, the sources, the allowed bands and the pass mark
  • Build the workflow on a test portal with writes limited to named fields
  • Run the 50 held-back labelled domains and record each result
  • Run synthetic leads: free-mail untouched, existing values kept
  • Independent automated review of the results and the source column
  • Hand over the workflow; your admin switches it on

This is a one-off job, not a subscription or emergency cover. We confirm eligibility, price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept, and work starts only after agreed inputs and access are in place. Nothing is sent, merged, posted or changed in your live systems by us, and an enquiry creates no charge or booking.

Need to keep it working?

Discuss a monthly re-check of a labelled sample.

Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.

Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.

What you can check

This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.

Other ways to get this done

  • Your CRM may enrich companies by itself on some plans. If its fields match yours, use that first.

Questions

Where do the values come from?

Your own data, the company's own public site, or a provider you hold a licence for. Each value shows its source.

Will you look up named people?

No. Only company-level facts are in scope.

What if the company is not found?

The field says "unknown" and counts as a miss in the test, not as a wrong value.

How is this different from filling blank fields in my CRM?

The blank-field job proposes values for records you already hold, for you to tick. This one fills new leads as they arrive and writes a source on every value.

Send an enquiry

Send us

  • The CRM, the form and which company fields you want
  • Where company facts are written down today
  • Roughly how many new leads a week

Later, once you agree

  • A test portal and a field mapping
  • Your 50 labelled past domains, held back until the test run
  • A secure handoff route agreed before any key is shared

You keep the CRM and any data-provider key. We build on a test portal and your admin switches the workflow on. Which service reads your records is agreed in writing before any real record is shared; the entry test uses invented or redacted data, or your own provider account.
