Get candidate customs codes for your products, for your broker to confirm
For up to 100 products, up to three candidate customs codes each with the tariff wording quoted, labelled as unconfirmed, for your customs broker or adviser to confirm. We confirm nothing.
You might be seeing
- Product records have no customs code
- Your broker asks for codes you do not have
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
Choosing a customs code means matching a product to wording in a tariff. A wrong code can mean wrong duty, delays or penalties, so the choice belongs to a qualified person. A first list of candidates, with the tariff wording beside each, can speed that person up.
Who it’s for: Owner of a store that ships across borders and has hundreds of products with no customs code, working with a broker or adviser who will confirm.
Usually starts when: You need codes on your products for export or import paperwork, and finding each one by hand would take weeks.
The result: For up to 100 products you get up to three candidate codes each, with the tariff wording quoted and each marked "candidate, not confirmed". On the 15 broker-confirmed products that stay sealed from us until the test run, the confirmed code appears among the candidates for at least 13. We confirm no code.

How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
On the 15 broker-confirmed products sealed until the test run, the confirmed code is among our three candidates for at least 13 (13 of 15 gives a true rate of at least 63% with 95% confidence), matched to the first six digits unless the quote names more. A product left blank counts as a miss. This shows a true rate of at least 63%, so some products will need a different code from your broker.
Evidence: The results for the 15 sealed products beside your confirmed codes.
Every candidate shows the tariff wording it came from; one without it fails the whole test.
Evidence: The candidate sheet.
Every row is labelled "candidate, not confirmed", and none is called correct or final; one fails the whole test.
Evidence: A script check of the labels.
Products with no good candidate are left blank and listed.
Evidence: The blanks list.
Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- You have a customs broker or adviser who will confirm the codes
- You can send 30 products with codes your broker has confirmed, 15 sealed until the test run
- You can send a product export with titles, descriptions and materials
- The tariff source is named in the quote and you accept it
We stop and tell you if
- You want the codes used as final with no one confirming them
- The goods are chemicals, medicines, food or other controlled goods that need a specialist from the start
- You want us to file declarations
What could go wrong
The job works on copies of files you send and returns files and a report. Nothing in your store or helpdesk is changed by us, so there is nothing to undo. Our copies of your files are deleted when the job ends.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A candidate is used as if it were confirmed. | Every row says "candidate, not confirmed". The test fails if any code is presented as final. |
| A wrong code causes duty or delay. | Only your broker confirms codes. The job stops if you plan to skip that. |
| The tariff wording quoted is out of date. | The sheet states the source and its date; your broker checks against the current tariff. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your broker or adviser confirms every code, and your named person decides what to file. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the tariff source, the products and the test set
- Receive the product export and your sealed confirmed codes
- Suggest up to three candidates with the tariff wording quoted
- Leave unknown products blank and mark every candidate unconfirmed
- Run the 30-product test; a separate automated reviewer checks the sheet
- Hand over the sheet and the review file for your broker
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss candidate codes for each new batch of products.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Ask your broker to classify a sample, then apply the pattern to similar products yourself.
- Use the official tariff look-up for your country, product by product.
Questions
Are these the right codes?
We do not say. They are candidates for your broker to confirm or correct.
Do you handle customs paperwork?
No. We prepare a list. You and your broker handle declarations.
Is this advice?
No. It is a research aid for a qualified person.
Does a pass mean it will be right next month?
No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- Which countries you ship from and to
- How many products and what kinds
- Who your broker or adviser is, by role
- No store login
Later, once you agree
- The product export through an agreed secure route
- The 30 broker-confirmed products, 15 sealed
- The tariff source you accept
- The name of the person who sends the sheet to your broker
You keep your store, your helpdesk and every login. We work on the files you send through a secure route agreed after you say yes, and hand back files and a report. We never ask for store or helpdesk logins, and nothing goes live until your named person applies it.
