Job woo-no-shipping-options-for-destination · revised 11 October 2026
Fix a WooCommerce checkout that offers no shipping for a country you serve
Each destination on your list shows the right shipping methods and costs at checkout on a store copy, and destinations you do not serve show none.
You might be seeing
- Checkout says no shipping options are available for an address you serve
- A shopper sees domestic rates for an overseas address, or the reverse
- Free shipping or local pickup does not appear when it should
- One postcode area works and the next one does not
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
WooCommerce picks one shipping zone for each address by checking the zones from the top of the list down and using the first match. A zone with no methods, a broad zone sitting above a narrower one, a postcode entry written in a form that does not match, or an unticked selling location leaves the address with no method or the wrong one, with no error in any log.
Who it’s for: Owner of a WooCommerce store whose shoppers in some places see no shipping method, or the wrong one, even though you ship there.
Usually starts when: Orders from a country, region or postcode area stopped, or a customer reports that checkout says shipping is not available to them.
The result: On a copy of your store, every destination on your agreed list shows the shipping methods and costs you specify at checkout, destinations you do not serve show no method, and the zone settings are documented.
Check whether this job fits
Five questions, about two minutes. Your answers stay on this page unless you choose to email them.
Checks you can run yourself
Read the zone list in order
Open WooCommerce, Settings, Shipping and read the zones from top to bottom.
Look for: A broad zone above a narrower one, or a zone covering the failing address that has no methods added.
Check the selling locations
Open WooCommerce, Settings, General and read the selling and shipping location settings.
Look for: Whether the failing country is allowed to ship to at all.
What you get
- A destination table: test address, expected methods and costs, result before and after
- The corrected zone settings, listed zone by zone in the order they apply
- A note naming why each failing address had no method or the wrong one
- Steps to apply the settings to the live store and to put the old ones back
Included
- The shipping zones, their order, the regions and postcode entries, and the methods inside each zone
- The store-wide selling and shipping location settings that decide which countries can reach checkout
- A test address for each agreed destination, from cart to checkout total
- Correcting the zone order, entries and methods on the copy, with the settings written down
Not included
- Live carrier-rate plugins and their accounts, which are a separate integration
- Deciding which destinations or prices you should offer
- Tax rates and tax settings
- Fulfilment, labels or courier bookings
- Fixing a checkout that fails for reasons other than shipping
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
Each agreed destination shows exactly the shipping methods and costs in your confirmed table at the checkout total on staging
Evidence: The destination table with a checkout screenshot for each row
A destination you said you do not serve shows no shipping method
Evidence: Screenshot of the unavailable message for that address
One destination that worked before the change gives the same methods and costs after it
Evidence: Before and after screenshots
The final zone order and entries match the written settings in the handover
Evidence: A screenshot of the zone list and the settings document
Sign-off. You review the destination table and the staging results and sign off before payment. Applying the settings to the live store is a separate step your site holder takes.
If it fails. If the checks do not pass, you do not pay, and we hand over what we found so anyone can continue.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- You can list the destinations you serve and the method and cost for each
- Your shipping methods are the built-in ones: flat rate, free shipping and local pickup
- A staging or copy store exists, or your host can make one
- Someone you authorise can apply the settings to the live store
We stop and tell you if
- The missing methods come from a paid carrier plugin whose account or licence we cannot test
- You have not decided what to charge for the destinations that fail
- More than about 30 zones, which is quoted as a larger restructure
- The checkout page fails before the shipping step
What could go wrong
The handover lists every zone and method as it was and as it should be, so your site holder can restore the previous settings in a few minutes. We do not change the live store.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A new broad zone captures addresses that a narrower zone should serve | Zones are ordered from the smallest area to the largest and every agreed address is re-tested after the last change. |
| Postcode entries match more or fewer addresses than intended | We test addresses just inside and just outside each postcode pattern and record the result. |
| A test order or email reaches a real customer | Staging runs with payments in test mode and customer email off. |
A second reviewer compares the final zone settings with your destination table and checks that a destination that worked before still works and that your site holder can reverse the change.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Confirm the staging copy matches the live shipping settings, with payments in test mode and customer email off
- Run each agreed test address to the checkout total and record the methods shown
- Read the zones in order and find the first zone that matches each failing address
- Correct the order, regions, postcode entries and methods on staging, and record every change
- Re-run every address, including destinations you do not serve and one that already worked
- Independent review, then hand over the table, settings and steps to undo; your site holder applies them live
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, the total price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept. Work starts only after agreed inputs, secure access, any licences and necessary permissions are in place. Platform, app and supplier charges are excluded unless the written quote includes them. No charge or booking is created by an enquiry.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss a shipping-zone test run after store updates as a separate agreement.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.

What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- If you only have a few zones, reordering them from the smallest area to the largest and adding methods to any empty zone often fixes it. Test one address before and after on a copy.
- If the missing method comes from a carrier plugin, its vendor support may help while your licence is active.
Questions
Do you need my live admin login?
No. We work on a staging copy with a staging login. Your site holder applies the settings to live.
Will you choose the shipping prices?
No. You decide the methods and costs, and we make the store show them. Pricing advice is outside this job.
What about postcodes with letters?
We test the patterns you need with real example addresses, because the wildcard form WooCommerce recommends behaves differently from a numeric range.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- Two or three example addresses that fail, with names and street lines removed
- The destinations you serve and the method and cost you want for each
- Whether you use any shipping plugin, and its name
- When it last worked, and what changed since
- WooCommerce and theme versions, if you know them
Later, once you agree
- A staging copy shared the way you choose, with a staging admin login rather than your live one
- Your confirmed destination table with costs and any free-shipping threshold
- A named person who confirms the expected result for each destination
- A company-controlled secure handoff agreed before access: no live passwords, keys, private code or customer records by ordinary email.
You keep the live store, hosting account and admin logins. We work on a staging copy with payments in test mode, and your site holder applies the shipping settings to the live store.
