Engineering lane
A managed WordPress lane: tested updates, monthly form checks and a change allowance
For one WordPress site: staging-tested updates, monthly form checks and up to two bounded items a month, one at a time. Proposed GBP 690 a month; timing and capacity by written proposal.
An enquiry starts a fit and scope conversation, not a contract, payment or reserved place. No logins, customer data or account invitations initially.
What the lane takes off your plate
A WordPress site needs regular small attention: tested updates, forms that keep delivering, and the odd fix or change. Hiring for each item is slow, and leaving them undone means the next problem arrives as an emergency.
Who it’s for: Owner or agency of one WordPress site that needs steady small care, without emergency cover, and wants an accountable monthly arrangement instead of buying each fix separately.
Usually starts when: The site needs something small every month, updates keep getting postponed, and nobody on the team owns the work.
The result: For one site, each month your updates are tried on a private staging copy, your forms are checked, and up to two bounded fixes or changes you choose from a defined list are delivered and accepted, with a written summary.
What the lane is made of
Each item has agreed acceptance criteria and an accept-or-revise decision. Two is a monthly ceiling, not a completion guarantee. The arrangement continues only under agreed renewal terms.
Try every WordPress update on a private staging copy first, month after month Standing service Included
Each month we test your pending updates on a private staging copy, check the pages and forms you name, and send a pass or hold per update. Your team applies them. No backups or monitoring.
Every month, for the named site
The same standing service you can buy on its own at its listed price.
Check that every form on your WordPress site still delivers, month after month Standing service Included
Each month we submit a marked test through every form you name, check it reaches the agreed mailbox, and report the sender checks in the original message and what we saw.
Every month, up to five forms
The same standing service you can buy on its own at its listed price.
Find which plugin or theme breaks one WordPress page, form or feature, and fix it Job Each time it fires
Isolate the plugin, theme or setting that breaks one named page, form or feature on a staging copy, then hand over a tested fix or workaround and the evidence.
Within the two monthly items and the GBP 450 allowance
Used when a held update or a reported fault needs its cause found, at no more than its starting scope.
Restore the layout of named Elementor pages that changed after an update Job Each time it fires
Compare up to eight Elementor pages with a before baseline at three widths, find why they changed, and restore them on a staging copy with a checklist you can verify.
Within the two monthly items and the GBP 450 allowance
Make your WordPress form notification emails arrive, through authenticated sending Job Each time it fires
Set up authenticated sending for up to three forms on one WordPress site, so notification emails come from your domain, and prove each one reaches the agreed mailbox.
Within the two monthly items and the GBP 450 allowance
Make scheduled WordPress posts and timed tasks run on time, with a real scheduler Job Optional
Find why scheduled posts show "Missed schedule" or timed tasks run late, set up a dependable trigger, and prove it with three harmless scheduled test events and a clean event list.
Within the two monthly items and the GBP 450 allowance
Map every old address to its new one and clean up canonicals after a WordPress restructure Job Optional
Build a tested map for up to 300 old addresses on one WordPress domain, each to one new address, remove chains and correct canonical addresses and the sitemap in the SEO plugin settings.
As the only item that month, for up to 300 addresses: its listed starting price is the whole GBP 450 allowance
Rebuild your brochure site's page templates so your team edits content, not layout Project Optional
Rebuild up to six page templates on an existing WordPress brochure site, with editable content areas, brand styles and the same web addresses, accepted by a trial edit and a rehearsed switch-back.
A separately scoped project, not part of the monthly allowance.
How an engagement works
One site, one active item at a time and at most two agreed bounded items a month, worth up to GBP 450 at their listed one-off prices. Two is a ceiling, not guaranteed completions, unlimited throughput or a fixed turnaround. Size, expected timing, the monthly test day and monthly capacity are confirmed in writing; none is promised on this page.
How it starts
You send the site description, the backlog and your response to the proposed monthly price, without logins or customer data.
We confirm fit, the staging route, who accepts items and who applies changes live.
We agree the monthly scope, the test day, the item sizes, the timing and capacity, the price, the payment terms and the cancellation terms in writing.
Each month we send the update and form reports, deliver the chosen items and send the summary.
Who decides what
You choose items and accept them. Your site holder applies updates and changes on the live site.
Handover
Each accepted item arrives as settings, files or a plugin with its evidence and undo steps. Unfinished items are handed back with notes if the arrangement ends.
Sharing your product safely. Initial contact uses the site description, public links and your backlog list. No logins, customer data or account invitations. Private access follows only after a safe handoff and written terms.
What is included, and what is not
- The monthly update report and form report
- Each accepted item as settings, files or a plugin with its evidence
- A monthly summary of what was done and what is open
Included
- One single WordPress site
- The monthly staging test of updates (up to twenty pending updates) and the monthly form check (up to five forms)
- Up to two bounded items a month, one active at a time, chosen from the listed fixes and changes. A bounded item is one listed job run at no more than its starting scope, and the two items together are worth no more than GBP 450 at their listed one-off prices; a larger item is quoted separately
- A written proposal that fixes the test day, the expected timing of each item and the monthly capacity
- A written monthly summary of what was tested, delivered and held
Not included
- Applying updates or changes on the live site: your team or host does that
- Hosting, backups, uptime monitoring or malware scanning
- Emergency or out-of-hours cover or any guaranteed response time
- Items larger than a listed job's starting scope, such as a redirect map for hundreds of addresses, a second language or a theme rebuild: those are quoted separately or are projects
- Multisite networks
- Paid plugin licences
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
Each month the update report lists every pending update (up to twenty) with a recorded pass, hold or decision-needed result and its evidence
Evidence: The monthly update report compared with the list your site holder sent
Each month every named form has a recorded marked test result
Evidence: The monthly form report
Each delivered item meets the acceptance checks of the matching job and is accepted or sent back by you
Evidence: The item's evidence and your recorded decision
Each month no more than two items were delivered or started, and their listed one-off prices add up to no more than GBP 450
Evidence: The monthly summary, listing each item with the job it matches and that job's listed price
Sign-off. You read each report, accept or send back each item and read the monthly summary.
If it fails. A blocker is raised with a substitute item, revised timing or a stop. Work that does not meet its criteria is not claimed as delivered. Billing for incomplete work is agreed before starting.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- One single WordPress site with a private staging copy, with email and every outside connection off or in test mode, confirmed in writing
- A named person who chooses items and accepts them
- A site holder who applies the passed updates and accepted changes live
- For the form check: your written authorisation and your written list of what each form triggers, as for the standalone form check
We stop and tell you if
- No staging copy can be made safely, or it cannot be kept private with its outside connections off
- The agreed items regularly exceed two a month or GBP 450 of listed jobs, so we agree a different scope
- The site needs round-the-clock cover or backups, monitoring and live updating done for you
- Nobody on your side can accept items or apply changes live
What could go wrong
We change the staging copy only. Each accepted item carries undo steps, and your team can reverse it as for any change. Ending the arrangement leaves your site as it is.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| The allowance is read as unlimited help | The proposal states two bounded items a month worth up to GBP 450 at listed prices, one active at a time; extra or larger work is quoted. |
| Staging results differ from live | The reports state what staging covers, and your team runs a short live check after applying changes. |
| A staging test or a form check reaches an outside system or a real person | The staging copy is private with email and outside connections off, form tests use one marked identity and are authorised in writing, and forms that trigger other actions are excluded unless a safe route is agreed. |
| The arrangement is mistaken for emergency cover or a full maintenance plan | It says plainly that there is no out-of-hours cover, response-time guarantee, backup, monitoring or live application. |
Each report and item is reviewed separately from the work that produced it. No human supervisor is included unless your proposal names one. At launch the work is largely automated, and we say so.
Stays with a person
- You accept every item
- Your site holder applies updates and changes on the live site
Access we would need
- A private staging copy and a staging admin login
- Public form submissions and the original messages you send us
Questions
Is this a full maintenance plan?
No. It tests updates before you apply them, checks forms monthly and delivers up to two bounded items a month. Hosting, backups, live monitoring and applying updates are not included. If you want those done for you, see the monthly maintenance service.
Is it for a site that cannot go down?
No. There is no emergency or out-of-hours cover, no response-time guarantee and no live application of changes. It suits a site that needs steady small care.
Can I buy the parts separately?
Yes. The two monthly services and every fix listed are available on their own. The proposed lane price equals their listed prices added together at full use, so it adds one arrangement with a test day and monthly capacity confirmed in writing, not a discount. If you use less than the allowance in a month you still pay the monthly figure.
What counts as a bounded item?
One listed job run at no more than its starting scope, for example a form-sending fix for up to three forms or a layout fix for up to eight pages. Together the two monthly items are worth no more than GBP 450 at their listed one-off prices. A larger item is quoted separately.
What if I need more than two items a month?
Extra items are quoted separately, or we agree a different scope.
Start a conversation
Send us
- The site address and a short description of what the site does for the business
- The pages and forms that matter most
- The backlog of small fixes and changes you have in mind
- Who accepts items and who applies changes live
- Your response to the proposed monthly price
Later, once you agree
- A staging copy and an admin login to it
- The monthly list of pending updates and your priority item for the month
- A named person to contact when an update is held
- A company-controlled secure handoff agreed before access: no live passwords, keys, private code or customer records by ordinary email.
You keep the live site, hosting and all passwords. We work on a private staging copy and through the public forms; your team applies changes live.
