Set up a small store on Squarespace or Wix with up to 25 products, ready for a test order
A store on your Squarespace or Wix site with up to 25 products from your sheet, shipping and tax numbers as you give them, your payment provider connected by you, and a test order checked.
You might be seeing
- Products exist but options, stock or prices are inconsistent
- Shipping rates or tax settings were guessed and nobody has placed a test order
- A payment method was added but checkout has never been tried end to end
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
A builder store is configuration, not code, yet it needs many separate settings to agree: products and their options, shipping zones and rates, tax settings, a payment provider and the checkout and confirmation messages. Each builder also has its own limits on options, variants and what a plan may sell, and a store that has never had a test order fails in front of the first customer.
Who it’s for: Owner of a Squarespace or Wix site who wants to sell a few physical products and has not yet set up the store, shipping and payment pieces.
Usually starts when: You have a product sheet and a working site but the store is half set up, or you are about to switch it on and want one tested order before customers see it.
The result: Up to 25 products match your sheet exactly, and a test order through the store checkout shows the right product, option, shipping price and total, creates an order record and a confirmation, and is cancelled by your account holder.

Checks you can run yourself
Calculate one order by hand
Choose one product, one shipping destination and write the price, shipping and any tax you expect on a line.
Look for: That calculation becomes the expected total in the test order; if you cannot fill it in, shipping or tax rules are not yet decided.
What you get
- The configured store with the entered products, ready for you to make visible to customers
- A comparison sheet of every product field against your sheet
- A test order log with the expected and actual totals
Included
- One Squarespace or Wix site: adding the store and entering up to 25 physical products from your sheet, with options and stock counts inside the builder's limits
- Shipping zones and rates, and tax settings, entered exactly as you give them to us
- The payment method connected by your account holder, and the checkout and order-confirmation wording
- Test orders for two products, one with options, and two shipping destinations you choose, in different shipping zones if you have more than one; further zones are entered as you give them but are not order-tested at this price, all checked against a calculation sheet
Not included
- Product photography, product descriptions or other writing
- Advice on what tax to charge, tax registration, or what the law requires of a seller
- Subscriptions, bookings, digital downloads or custom checkout code
- Product feeds to marketplaces and advertising, more than 25 products, or moving orders and customers from another store
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
Every product's name, price, options, image and stock count matches your sheet, field by field, for all products.
Evidence: The comparison sheet with a match marked on every row.
A test order for a product with options, delivered to each of the two destinations chosen in the scope, shows the shipping price you specified and a total equal to the hand calculation.
Evidence: Screenshots of the checkout totals and the calculation sheet.
The test order creates one order record and one confirmation message with the right items.
Evidence: Screenshots of the order record and the confirmation message.
After your account holder cancels the test order, and restocks the product if the builder does not do that itself, the order is closed and the product's stock count equals its starting count.
Evidence: The order status and the stock count before and after.
Sign-off. You place your own test order and check the totals, and sign off before payment. Your account holder makes the store visible to customers.
If it fails. If the agreed checks fail, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over the findings and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- The site is on Squarespace (version 7.1) or Wix, on a plan that can sell products, and you will hold the payment provider account in your own name
- You supply the product sheet, photographs, shipping rates and tax settings, and decide them
- Your products are allowed by the builder and the payment provider
We stop and tell you if
- The payment provider has not approved your account, so no test order is possible
- Products need options or variants beyond the builder's stated limits, or need custom checkout behaviour
- Products are of a kind the builder or provider does not allow you to sell
- A Squarespace site is on version 7.0, which this job does not cover
What could go wrong
Products and settings can be unpublished or deleted individually, and the store page can be left hidden. The handover lists everything added.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A shipping or tax number is wrong because it was guessed. | We enter only the numbers you give us and show the calculation sheet; deciding them, and any advice on them, is yours. |
| A test order creates a real charge. | Your account holder runs the order using the payment provider's test mode where it offers one, or agrees a refundable order in advance; we never hold card details. |
| Stock is reduced by test orders. | The test order is cancelled by your account holder and stock is checked and restored as part of the test. |
An independent reviewer checks the redacted before and after evidence, the list of changes and the way back, and looks separately at anything that touches customer data, payments or logins, before you see the result.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the builder, product sheet, shipping and tax numbers and payment provider in writing
- Add the store and enter the products on the real site, not a duplicate, keeping the store page out of the site navigation and, where the builder allows, behind a password until sign-off (Squarespace says checkout cannot be disabled on version 7.1 and suggests exactly this)
- Set shipping zones, rates and tax settings from your numbers; your account holder connects the payment provider
- Compare every product field with the sheet, then place test orders against a hand-calculated sheet
- Have a separate reviewer re-run the comparison and the test orders
- Hand over the store, the sheets and the steps to make it visible; your account holder makes it visible
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, the total price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept. Work starts only after agreed inputs, secure access and necessary permissions are in place. Builder plan, app, domain and payment-provider charges are yours and are excluded unless the written quote includes them. No charge or booking is created by an enquiry.
Need to keep it working?
If you later add many products, change shipping zones or sell more than physical goods, each is a separate quote.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Explore an ongoing engineering lane, or mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Squarespace's own guide to adding products walks through each step and may be enough for a handful of products. support.squarespace.com
- Wix lists its store limits and guidelines publicly so you can check your catalogue fits. support.wix.com
Questions
Do you take the payments or hold my payment account?
No. The account is yours and your account holder connects it. We never see card details.
Can you tell me what tax to charge?
No. We enter the tax settings you give us. What is right for your business is a question for your own adviser.
What if I have 40 products?
Up to 25 are in this price. A larger catalogue is quoted separately, or you can add the rest yourself from our guide.
Does this cover Squarespace version 7.0?
No. This job covers version 7.1. Version 7.0 is the older Squarespace version, with different limits, for example 200 products per store page against 10,000 on version 7.1.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- The builder, its plan as shown in your account, the Squarespace version (7.1 or 7.0) if it is Squarespace, and the number of products
- A product sheet with the headings you use, with one example product row
- The countries you ship to and whether you have decided your shipping rates and tax settings
Later, once you agree
- Builder access at the role named in the access section, set up by you and removable at any time
- The full product sheet, the photographs, and your shipping and tax numbers in a sheet
- Your payment provider connected by you; no card details or provider passwords come to us
You keep the live site, the builder account, the domain and all customer data. Access is agreed with you in writing before any work starts, and no work starts until it is. Any access we use is through a company-controlled account, never a personal login. The role depends on the builder. Squarespace: the Administrator permission, because only owners and administrators can change shipping, tax and checkout settings or connect a payment processor (Squarespace's Store manager role cannot). Wix: the Store Manager role, which Wix describes as able to view and manage store products, categories, orders, sales channels, store settings, shipping and tax; if the checkout wording sits in the site editor we say so in the quote and also ask for the Website Manager role. Your account holder connects the payment provider; no card details or provider passwords come to us. We name the exact role and any seat or plan charge in the quote before you invite anyone; those charges are yours. You can remove our access at any time. No passwords or payment details go by ordinary email, and your authorised account holder publishes the final change.
