Job mentions-digest-from-feeds-and-pages-you-name · revised 12 October 2026
Get a weekly digest of mentions from the sources you name
Once you switch it on, each week you get new items from feeds and pages you name that match your keywords, each with a link, date and matching text. No profiling of people and nothing is posted.
You might be seeing
- A mention is found weeks late
- The same story is reported from five places
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
Mentions of a business or topic are scattered across feeds, blogs and forums. Checking each by hand does not happen, and a tool that scrapes sites or profiles individual people can break platform terms and data-protection notice rules. A digest that fails quietly looks like a quiet week.
Who it’s for: Owner or marketer who wants to see where the business or its topic is mentioned in public places.
Usually starts when: Mentions appear in blogs, news and forums and nobody has time to look for them.
The result: Once you switch it on, each week you receive new items from the feeds and pages you named that match your keywords, each with a link, date and the matching text, grouped and de-duplicated. The digest lists items, not facts about their authors, and nothing is posted.

How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
On a seeded feed with 5 matching items, 5 near-misses, 3 duplicates and 2 old items, exactly the 5 matching items appear once.
Evidence: The seeded feed and the digest.
In up to 20 items sampled (all of them if fewer) from the digests produced during the test run, every item links to a page that exists and contains the keyword.
Evidence: The sample with the link check.
A seeded failing source is named in the digest, not skipped silently.
Evidence: The seeded failure and the digest note.
No author profile data appears in any digest item.
Evidence: A field check on the digest.
Sign-off. You re-run the test yourself, check the list of severe errors and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If the agreed pass mark is not met, we say so, hand over the results and the failures, and do not call the output working. You do not pay for this scope; we agree whether to stop or re-quote.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- Each source is an RSS feed, an official API or a public page whose terms you have checked allow this use
- A named person reads the digest
- You confirm no source is a personal profile
We stop and tell you if
- You want LinkedIn or personal profiles followed
- A source's terms forbid automated access
- You want us to reply or post
What could go wrong
You switch the workflow off and the digest stops. Nothing was posted anywhere.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A source forbids automated access | You confirm each source's terms, and we drop any that do not allow it. |
| A failing source looks like a quiet week | The digest names any source that failed. |
| Personal data creeps in | The digest lists the item and its text, not the author's profile. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the links, the matches and the failure note before hand-over, and no person on our side reviews unless your agreement names one. Your named reader decides what to do with each item. At launch the work is largely automated, and we say so.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the sources, the keywords and the delivery address in writing
- Check each source's terms with you and record the answer
- Build the digest on a seeded test feed
- Run planted matches, near-misses, duplicates and a failing source
- Independent automated review of the links, matches and failure note
- Hand over the workflow; you switch it on
This is a one-off job, not a subscription or emergency cover. We confirm eligibility, price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept, and work starts only after agreed inputs and access are in place. Nothing is sent, merged, posted or changed in your live systems by us, and an enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss a monthly check that the sources and keywords are still right.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Free alert tools exist for news and blogs. Try one first; this job adds de-duplication, a named reader and a failure note.
Questions
Does it follow people?
No. It follows topics and the business only.
Can it reply to mentions?
No. It only lists them.
Does it use AI?
A model may help group related items. Matching is by your keywords.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- The sources and the keywords, as a list
- Who reads the digest and when
- Where each source's terms are stated
Later, once you agree
- Confirmation of each source's terms
- A delivery address you own for the digest
- A secure handoff route agreed before any key is shared
You keep any account and key. We build and test on public feeds and pages you named; once you switch the workflow on, it sends the digest each week to an address you own. We do not run it for you.
