Job merchant-center-price-availability-mismatch · revised 11 October 2026
Fix Merchant Center price and stock mismatches between your feed and your product pages
For an agreed set of products the feed's price and availability match the page, checkout and markup, and processed diagnostics show no mismatch. Google's approval is not guaranteed.
You might be seeing
- Diagnostics name an inaccurate price or availability status for products that look correct on your site
- The problem returns after each sale, price change or stock-out because the feed lags the site
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
The price or availability sent in the product data differs from what the landing page, the checkout or the page's structured data shows, because the feed is stale, taken from a different source, includes or excludes tax differently, or the page itself shows more than one price. Google compares them and flags the products.
Who it’s for: Store owner or e-commerce manager whose products are warned or disapproved in Merchant Center for a price or availability that differs from the product page.
Usually starts when: Merchant Center reports a price or availability mismatch between the feed and the landing page, often after a sale starts or ends, or after stock changes faster than the feed refreshes.
The result: For up to 25 agreed products, the product data's price and availability equal the landing page, the checkout and the page's markup at the time of the check, the refresh route is written down, and the next processed Merchant Center diagnostics show no price or availability mismatch for them. Google's approval or review result is not guaranteed.

Checks you can run yourself
Compare one product three ways
For one flagged product, note the price and stock shown in the feed row, on the product page and in the checkout, using the same country and any variant the feed link opens.
Look for: Whether tax is included in one place and not another, whether the feed link opens a different variant, and whether the page shows a sale price the feed does not carry yet.
What you get
- A per-product comparison table before and after, with the cause for each group
- The corrected feed rule or export, and a change list for page markup you will apply
- A note describing the refresh route and its timing
- Before and after item diagnostics for the agreed products
Included
- One Merchant Center data source and up to 25 named products that are flagged
- Compare, for each product, the feed value, the landing page, the checkout and any structured data on the page, with tax and currency stated
- Find the cause per product group, such as stale refresh, a different source field, tax handling, a variant opening on the wrong option or a second visible price
- Correct the feed-side rule or export that you control, and give a precise change list for page markup that sits in your theme or templates
- Write down the refresh route that keeps price and availability in step with the site, and recheck diagnostics after processing
Not included
- Google policy suspension appeals, account-level misrepresentation reviews or guaranteed reinstatement
- Deciding your prices or promotions
- Google Ads campaign management or advertising spend
- Changing products outside the agreed set
- Inventing or altering stock figures; we match what your site truly shows
- Building or migrating an API integration that submits product data
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
For each of the agreed products, the corrected feed value for price and availability equals the landing page and the checkout for the agreed country, including tax treatment and currency.
Evidence: Before and after comparison table with the source of each value.
After you resubmit and Merchant Center has processed the data, item diagnostics for the agreed products show no price or availability mismatch.
Evidence: Redacted before and after diagnostic screenshots or exports with dates.
The refresh route is written down with the schedule. Your account holder changes the price of one agreed product, or the price or availability of a product in a separate test data source you provide, and restores it afterwards; the new value appears in the feed file or export within the stated time.
Evidence: The refresh note and the test result with timestamps, from your account holder's change to the value appearing in the feed output.
Sign-off. You inspect the comparison table and the processed diagnostics and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off; applying changes and requesting any review stay with your account holder.
If it fails. If the agreed products still show the mismatch after the agreed changes and a reasonable processing time, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over our findings, and we agree whether to stop or re-quote.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- You can show the Merchant Center item diagnostics for the flagged products, and can send redacted screenshots or exports
- You control the feed source (a script, export or feed rules) or can name who does
- The landing pages and checkout show a single price per product for a given country
We stop and tell you if
- Merchant Center cites an account-level or policy issue rather than a price or availability mismatch
- The price on the page changes by visitor location, or the page cannot be shown to a crawler, so no feed value can match it
- The real stock or price is unknown to you
What could go wrong
Keep the previous feed rule or export. The handover lists every change and its reverse. We do not change your live feed, account settings or page templates; your account holder applies them and can restore the earlier rule.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| The feed is corrected to match a page price that is itself wrong. | The comparison names which source you consider authoritative, and your account holder confirms it before changes. |
| Fixing the feed does not clear the flag because Google has not recrawled yet. | Acceptance is the processed diagnostics, with the wait stated up front; Google's recrawl and review timing is not promised. |
| Pasting a Merchant Center login or customer data into an email. | The first enquiry asks for redacted screenshots only, and access comes after agreement through a secure route. |
An independent reviewer checks the per-product comparison, that tax and currency are handled consistently, and that no stock or price value was invented. Your account holder decides what goes live.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the data source, the product set, the countries and the diagnostics to be used in writing
- Compare feed, page, checkout and page markup for each product and group the causes
- Make the feed-side correction on a copy and prepare the change list for markup you control
- Independent review of the comparison and the proposed changes, with a separate look at tax and currency handling
- Hand over the corrected rule, change list and refresh note; your account holder applies them and resubmits the data
- Recheck the processed diagnostics for the agreed products and record the result
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, the total price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept. Work starts only after agreed inputs, secure access and any needed permissions are in place. Hosting, supplier and platform charges are excluded unless the written quote includes them. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.

What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Google's own help page for inaccurate price status lists the usual causes and fix steps, and Google offers automations that read price and availability from your pages. They are described as not a replacement for regular feed updates. support.google.com
- If an app or platform generates your feed, check its refresh schedule first; a daily fetch cannot follow prices that change hourly.
Questions
Will Google approve my products after this?
We cannot promise that. We make the data match your pages and show the processed diagnostics. Google's review and recrawl timing and decisions are its own.
Do you need access to my Merchant Center account?
Not for the first enquiry. After agreement we use the least access that lets us read diagnostics, or you send redacted exports. We never need advertising or billing access.
My price changes many times a day. Is that covered?
We can describe a refresh route, such as a faster fetch schedule or an API that your developer builds. Google's automations page says its automations may not work for products whose price or availability changes frequently, for example more than once per day, and that a product may be disapproved instead of updated if a mismatch is detected. If your prices move that fast, the first question is how the feed refreshes. Building or migrating an API integration is not part of this fixed job.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- A redacted screenshot or export of the Merchant Center diagnostic for three affected products
- For each, the feed price, the page price and the checkout price, and whether tax is included
- How the feed is produced and how often it refreshes. No Merchant Center login, ad account access, customer data or code in the first enquiry
Later, once you agree
- Diagnostics access at the least level that lets us read them, or redacted exports from you
- The feed source or export rules through an agreed company-controlled route
- Your decision on how the page price should be shown where it has more than one
- One named product, or a separate test data source, whose price (or, in a test data source, availability) you agree to change and restore for the refresh test
You keep your Merchant Center account, your store and your prices. We work from redacted diagnostics and a copy of the feed rules, and return a corrected feed rule and a change list. Your account holder applies changes, resubmits the data and requests any review; we never hold advertising or billing access.
