Job ten-business-questions-answered-and-checked · revised 12 October 2026
Let me ask my sales spreadsheet ten recurring questions and trust the answers
Ten named questions become saved, checked queries on your export, each matching your hand-worked answer on the snapshots we tested. Rephrased questions go to the right query or are refused.
You might be seeing
- The same ten questions are answered by hand every week
- A chat tool gave a number that looked right and was not
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
A tool that writes a new query for each question can return a number that looks right and is wrong, and nobody can tell which. Asking ten fixed questions avoids that. Each is a saved, checked query, and the 'ask' only picks the right one or refuses.
Who it’s for: Owner or manager with one sales export and the same ten questions every week.
Usually starts when: The same questions are answered by hand each week, or a chat tool once gave a plausible wrong number.
The result: Ten named questions become saved, parameterised queries or pivots on your export, each returning your hand-worked number on a test snapshot, with a one-page note on how each answer is calculated. Rephrased questions go to the right saved query or are refused. No query is written at run time.

What you get
- The ten saved queries or pivots

- The one-page calculation note
- Run steps
Included
- One table of up to 1 million rows and ten questions you write down
- A saved query or pivot for each question, checked on a fixed snapshot
- A second snapshot in which you change rows we are not told about, to check answers move correctly
- A routing step that maps rephrased questions to a saved question, or refuses
- A one-page note on how each answer is calculated
Not included
- Questions outside the ten
- Writing new queries at run time
- A live warehouse or database connection
- Personal data columns
- Charts or dashboards
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
On the fixed snapshot, all ten answers equal your hand-worked numbers.
Evidence: The ten answers beside yours.
On a second snapshot in which you change a few rows without telling us which, each answer moves by an amount you compute yourself.
Evidence: Your changes and your computed amounts beside the answers.
Of your 30 held-back rephrasings (three for each of the ten questions), at least 27 go to the right saved question and none goes to a wrong one; a refusal counts as a miss. 27 of 30 shows the true rate is at least 76% with 95% confidence.
Evidence: The routing table beside your intended answers.
5 questions outside the ten, which you write and we do not see beforehand, each get a refusal, not a guess.
Evidence: The five questions and the replies.
The run log shows only saved query names; no SQL or formula is generated at run time.
Evidence: The run log.
Sign-off. You inspect the ten answers, the routing results and the refusals, and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If the held-back test is not passed, you do not pay for this fixed scope. You keep the results, the failures and the test set, and we agree whether to stop or re-quote. No surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- One export table of up to 1 million rows with no personal data columns
- Ten questions written down, with your hand-worked answers on a snapshot
- You write 30 rephrasings, three for each question, and hold them back
- You accept refusals for anything outside the ten
We stop and tell you if
- You want to ask anything of a live warehouse
- The table holds personal data columns that cannot be removed
- You want the system to write new queries as it goes
- You cannot work out the ten answers by hand
What could go wrong
The job reads copies you send and writes files. It changes nothing in your systems, so there is nothing to revert. Our copies of your files are deleted when the job ends.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A plausible wrong number comes back. | No query is written at run time. Each answer comes from a saved query checked against your hand-worked number. |
| A rephrasing is sent to the wrong saved question. | 30 held-back rephrasings are tested, and a wrong number returned fails the whole test. |
| Your files go to a model provider outside your control. | Before any file is shared we name the provider, its country and its retention terms in writing. Entry jobs run on redacted, synthetic or public copies, or on your own provider account with a key you hold. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the saved queries, the routing and the refusal list before hand-over and does not mark the held-back test. A named person on your side works out the ten answers by hand, writes the 30 rephrasings and signs off. No person on our side is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the ten questions, the pass mark and the refusal rules
- Receive the export; you work out ten answers by hand on a snapshot
- Build one saved query per question and check each against your answer
- Run your changed snapshot, then your 30 held-back rephrasings
- Independent review of the queries, the routing and the refusals
- Hand over the queries and routing; delete our copies
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, the price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept, and work starts only after inputs, a secure handoff route and permissions are in place. Model usage up to a cap agreed in writing is included, and an enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Need more questions added? Each new question is a small extension, quoted separately.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Explore an ongoing managed lane, or mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- A pivot table in your spreadsheet answers fixed questions without any AI. This job adds a test of the answers and a way to ask in plain words.
- A defined-metrics project (see related) covers a larger set of questions across a warehouse.
Questions
Is this a chatbot?
No. It maps your wording to one of ten saved, checked queries, or says it cannot answer.
Can I ask a new question?
Not without adding a saved query for it. That is deliberate: every answer is one we checked against your numbers.
Will it connect to my database?
No. It works on an export you send.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- The ten questions in your own words
- The columns in your export, as text
- No real records, personal data or credentials in the first enquiry
Later, once you agree
- A redacted or sample export by an agreed secure route
- Your hand-worked answers for a snapshot
- Your 30 held-back rephrasings
- A written cap on model usage
You keep your export and your decisions. We work on a copy you send by an agreed secure route, return saved queries and a script, and delete our copies when the job ends. We never connect to your live data.
