Build one Webflow CMS collection with item pages and a list on your site
One Webflow CMS collection of up to 10 fields, a template page for every item and a list on one existing page, filled with up to 25 items you supply.
You might be seeing
- Adding one more item means copying a page and fixing its text, links and images by hand
- Two pages that should match have drifted apart, or a link on the listing page is out of date
- A collection exists in the Webflow project but nothing on the live site uses it
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
Repeating content lives on hand-copied static pages, so each new item means duplicating a page, one change has to be made many times and links drift out of date. A CMS collection fixes that only when its fields, the template page that shows each item and the list that links to those pages are built together.
Who it’s for: Owner or marketer of a Webflow site whose repeating content (team members, projects, events, locations, services) sits on hand-copied static pages.
Usually starts when: Every new team member, event or service means duplicating a page and editing it by hand, or a half-built collection was left behind by whoever designed the site.
The result: You add an item in the Webflow CMS and publish; its own page appears at the agreed address and a linked card appears in the list on the page you named. Editing the template changes every item page.

Checks you can run yourself
Spot the repeated pages
Open three pages that look alike, such as three team member pages, and write down every piece of information that changes between them.
Look for: If the layout is identical and only the information changes, those pieces become the collection fields.
What you get
- The collection, its field list and the template page in your Webflow project, ready to publish
- The list on the named page, checked at desktop, tablet and phone widths
- A one-page guide to adding, editing and unpublishing an item, and a sheet of the live item addresses
Included
- One CMS collection with up to 10 fields chosen with you, including at most one reference to a collection that already exists
- One collection template page laid out for those fields, with its page title and description built from item fields
- One collection list on one existing page, linking to the item pages, with the sort order you choose and an item limit if you want one
- Up to 25 items entered from content you supply; bigger sets are the separate CSV import job
Not included
- Redesign of the rest of the site, new branding or writing the item content
- Member-only or per-visitor content, search across items, or filtering beyond the sort and limit agreed
- Online-store products, which are a different Webflow collection type and a different job
- Custom code, or moving content in from another platform
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
The sort order and any item limit of the list are agreed in writing before work starts. A test item that sorts inside the items the list shows, added in the Webflow CMS and published, creates a page at the agreed address showing every field and appears exactly once in the list on the named page.
Evidence: Screenshots of the CMS entry, the live item page and the list, with the test item left or removed as you choose.
An item with one optional field left empty shows no blank image, empty heading or broken link on its page or its card, at desktop, tablet and phone widths.
Evidence: Three-width screenshots of that item page and card.
Two different items show different page titles and descriptions in the page source, built from their own fields.
Evidence: Page-source excerpts for two items.
Each of the supplied items has a working page at its agreed address and a card in the list, and none is missing or duplicated.
Evidence: A sheet of every item, its address and the status of both page and card.
Sign-off. You open the preview, add and remove a test item yourself using the guide, and sign off before payment. Your account holder publishes.
If it fails. If the agreed checks fail, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over the findings and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- The site is a Webflow site on a site plan that includes the CMS, and the plan allows another collection
- Every item shares one set of fields, even if some fields are empty for some items
- You can supply the content and images for up to 25 items and name the page that will carry the list
We stop and tell you if
- Each item needs its own bespoke layout, which a shared template cannot give
- Your plan has no room for another collection or the agreed items, so the plan must change first
- The design needs visitors to log in to see items, which Webflow no longer provides natively
What could go wrong
Keep the pre-build state of the named page. The handover lists each new collection, page and list, so each can be unpublished or deleted without touching the rest of the site.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Renaming the collection address after publishing breaks links to item pages. | We fix the collection address before publishing and list it in the handover; changing it later needs a redirect, which is a separate job. |
| An item with an empty field shows a blank box or an empty heading. | Every optional element is set to show only when its field has content, and the empty-field item is part of the acceptance test. |
| Publishing the build changes pages you did not expect. | The handover names every page changed, and your account holder reviews the preview before publishing. |
An independent reviewer checks the redacted before and after evidence, the list of changes and the way back, and looks separately at anything that touches customer data, payments or logins, before you see the result.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the field list, the template layout reference, the page that carries the list and the items in writing
- Build the collection, its fields, the template page and the list in the Designer; nothing goes live until your account holder publishes
- Build the template page and connect each element and the page title and description to item fields
- Add the list to the named page and enter the supplied items
- Check empty-field items and three widths, then have a separate reviewer check the result
- Hand over the build and the editing guide; your account holder publishes
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, the total price, a start window and a delivery date before you accept. Work starts only after agreed inputs, secure access and necessary permissions are in place. Builder plan, app, domain and payment-provider charges are yours and are excluded unless the written quote includes them. No charge or booking is created by an enquiry.
Need to keep it working?
If you add many more items, or want a second collection, ask for a separate quote. A monthly check of forms and embeds is a separate standing service.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Explore an ongoing engineering lane, or mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- If your site has few items and they rarely change, a handful of static pages in the Webflow Designer may be simpler than a collection.
- If you can use the Webflow Designer, you can build a collection yourself from the free University and help articles. help.webflow.com
Questions
Do I need a particular Webflow plan?
You need a site plan that includes the CMS and has room for the collection. Your own site settings show the limits; we check them before quoting.
Can you migrate my existing pages into the collection?
Up to 25 items you supply are entered by hand as part of this job. A larger spreadsheet import is a different, separately priced job.
Will you publish the site?
No. We hand over a preview and a list of what changed. Your authorised account holder publishes.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- A link to the live page that will carry the list, or a screenshot of it
- The field names you want for each item, as a row of headings in a spreadsheet, with one example item
- Which Webflow site plan the site is on, as shown in your own site settings
Later, once you agree
- Webflow access to the one site as a Designer or Site manager, on a paid full seat or a guest invitation as agreed in writing, set up by you and removable at any time
- The content and images for the agreed items, in the sheet
- The layout reference for one item page, such as a screenshot or an existing page to copy
You keep the live site, the builder account, the domain and all customer data. Access is agreed with you in writing before any work starts, and no work starts until it is. Any access we use is through a company-controlled account, never a personal login. This job needs the Webflow Designer or Site manager role, because Webflow's Marketer and Content editor roles cannot create a Collection. That role uses a paid full seat in your Workspace (or a guest invitation, which Webflow allows only to a Freelancer or Agency Workspace). We name the exact role and any seat or plan charge in the quote before you invite anyone; those charges are yours. You can remove our access at any time. No passwords or payment details go by ordinary email, and your authorised account holder publishes the final change.
