Job whatsapp-assistant-answers-from-your-help-pages-with-a-person-taking-over · revised 12 October 2026
Answer WhatsApp questions from your own help pages, with a person able to take over
A WhatsApp assistant answers only from the help pages you name, says in its first message that it is automated, and hands over to a named person. Customers message first; it never sends first.
You might be seeing
- The same ten questions arrive every day
- Messages sent in the evening are answered the next morning
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
A bot on a messaging app can state a price, refund or policy that is not on your pages, and the business answers for it. WhatsApp's own business rules limit what an AI assistant may be. Customers also fear being stuck with a bot and no person.
Who it’s for: Owner or support lead whose customers already message a WhatsApp number and who answers the same questions all day.
Usually starts when: Customers message in the evening, the same ten questions repeat, and answers given late or wrongly cost you sales.
The result: On a WhatsApp Business number you own, an assistant answers customers' questions only from the help pages you name and shows the page it used. Its first message says it is automated. It says "I don't know" and hands over to a named person for anything off the pages, and it never sends the first message.

How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
On each of three runs of the 60 held-back in-scope questions, at least 54 match the expected answer and page citation (54/60: exact one-sided 95% lower bound, rounded down, 81%).
Evidence: The results table and the held-back questions you wrote.
On each of three runs, at least 19 of the 20 held-back out-of-scope questions get "I don't know" and a handover (19/20: exact one-sided 95% lower bound, rounded down, 78%).
Evidence: The results table.
All 20 held-back handover cases reach your named queue with the conversation on all three runs; include every listed trigger, including repeat contact, and any missing handover fails the whole test.
Evidence: The queue and all 60 handover results; a smoke test of these 20 cases, not a future rate.
No answer in the whole test states a price, refund, deadline or policy that is not on the named pages. One such answer fails the whole test.
Evidence: Every answer logged and checked against the pages.
In all 30 new-conversation tests the first message says automated; across 30 hostile messages run three times, no reply reveals protected data, makes an unsupported commitment or changes a handover decision, and switching off sends the next 10 messages to your inbox.
Evidence: The test log and the kill-switch rehearsal. The hostile test is a smoke test of these 30 messages.
Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- Public help pages or written policies that are current and have one named owner
- A WhatsApp Business number and account that you own
- A person who receives handovers during stated hours
- A test number you control for the tests
We stop and tell you if
- The assistant is meant to be a general-purpose chatbot rather than customer service
- Nobody receives handovers, or you want it to promise a reply time you cannot keep
- Your pages or expected answers conflict and your named owner cannot settle them before testing
- You want it to message customers first
What could go wrong
The assistant runs in your account. Your person turns it off with one switch and customers then reach your normal inbox. Our copies of your pages and questions are deleted when the job ends.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| The assistant states a price, refund or policy that is not on your pages. | Any such answer in the test fails the whole test, and the pages it may use are named. |
| Customers are stuck with the assistant. | Asking for a person works at any point, and the test checks it in every state. |
| WhatsApp changes its terms for AI assistants. | This is a customer-service setup, not a general assistant; you check platform notices after handover, or agree separate monitoring. We do not include ongoing platform-terms monitoring in this one-off job. |
| A customer message carries hostile instructions. | Messages are treated as data. The assistant has no tools that change anything, and 30 hostile messages are tested. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your named person approves the pages and the handover list, switches the assistant on and answers every handover. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the pages, handover list, hours and first-message wording
- Set up the assistant on a test number you control
- Write 150 test questions with you; you keep 100 back
- Run the tests three times; fix and rerun any failure
- Review separately and rehearse the kill switch
- Hand over; you switch it on for your live number
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss the monthly sampled check once the assistant has been live for a month.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Use your WhatsApp Business app's quick replies and away message.
- Put the same answers on a help page and link to it from your profile.
Questions
Will customers know it is automated?
Yes. The first message says so, and it never uses a human name.
Can it send promotions?
No. It replies inside chats that customers start and sends nothing else.
Is there a monthly check?
Yes. The monthly sampled check on this site can cover a WhatsApp assistant by written agreement.
Does a pass mean it will be right next month?
No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- Which pages and policies it should answer from
- Your WhatsApp Business provider
- When a person is available for handovers
- No logins, keys, customer data or payment details in the first enquiry
Later, once you agree
- Admin access to a test number and a copy of the setup, which you create and can revoke
- The named current pages and a 150-question set with expected answers, page citations or handovers agreed by your person; keep 60 answerable, 20 out-of-scope and 20 handover cases unseen until acceptance, replacing any used for fixes
- The handover contact and the hours you can keep
- Your own wording for the first message, if you want to change ours
You keep the number, business account and credentials; we build on a test number and you enable your live number. Live chats stay in your business systems and are processed by the model service named in the written terms, which state its country and retention. We receive only synthetic test chats unless you separately agree to share redacted logs.
