Job shopify-ai-written-copy-checked-before-publish · revised 12 October 2026
Check your AI-written product descriptions against your own data before they go live
For up to 150 products, every number, spec and claim in AI-written copy is traced to your source data or flagged, and a clean import file holds only the fixes you approve.
You might be seeing
- A description names a size or material the product does not have
- Some products got another product's text
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
Bulk AI copy fails in patterns: facts attached to the wrong product, invented specs, sentences cut off, fields blanked and characters broken. Reading a random sample misses them because the bad ones cluster. Copy that drifts from your feed or contains claims you cannot back up can also cause trouble with search and shopping platforms.
Who it’s for: Owner or catalogue manager of a Shopify store that has generated product descriptions in bulk with an app or an AI writing tool and has not checked them one by one.
Usually starts when: A bulk run of AI descriptions is ready to import, and you do not trust a quick look at a few products to find what is wrong.
The result: For up to 150 products, every number, spec and claim in the new copy is traced to your source data or flagged. You get an audit sheet, a duplicate-phrasing report, a before and after diff and a clean import file containing only the fixes you approve. The test checks 30 of the 150 products.
Check whether this job fits
Answer these without sending files or logins. Nothing is submitted unless you choose to contact us.
What you get
- The audit sheet
- The repeated-phrasing report
- Claim-word hits
- The before and after diff
- A clean import file
- A note on labelling AI text in feeds
Included
- Up to 150 products, from a product export (handle, title, description, specs) and your source of truth for facts
- An audit sheet: product, field, claim, source cell, verdict
- A report of repeated phrasing across products
- A list of hits on claim words you give us, such as "cures", "clinically proven" or "ships in 2 days"
- A check that page text, feed text and structured data agree for the products that changed
- A before and after diff and a clean import file with only the fixes you approve
Not included
- Importing anything into your store
- Approving health, cosmetic or food claims, or any legal compliance
- Writing new descriptions (see the supplier-facts copy job)
- Checking images
- More than 150 products without a quote
- Real customer data
How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
We plant 20 known defects (invented spec, swapped product, truncated sentence, blanked field, encoding break, banned claim) in a copy of 50 of your products: 10 planted by us and 10 by your named person, kept from us until the test run. The audit flags all 20; any defect not flagged is shown beside the planted list and fails the test (20 of 20 shows a true catch rate of at least 86% with 95% confidence; a smoke test).
Evidence: The planted list beside the audit sheet.
For 30 products you pick from the 150 after the audit file is delivered, no number, spec or claim is left without a source cell or a flag; one unflagged invented spec fails the whole test.
Evidence: The audit rows for the 30 products.
The diff shows no change outside the agreed columns.
Evidence: The diff report and the column list.
Every use of your claim words in the copy is listed with its product.
Evidence: The claim-word hits beside a search of the export.
Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- A source of truth for the facts exists, such as a supplier sheet or spec table
- The copy is already written by an app, ChatGPT, Sidekick or a writer
- You can export products as a CSV with no customer data
- A named person picks 30 products, plants 10 of the 20 test defects and approves fixes
We stop and tell you if
- There is no source of truth to check the facts against
- The products carry health, cosmetic or food claims that need an adviser, beyond flagging them
- More than 150 products and you do not want a quoted larger scope
- The point is to publish many near-identical pages for search
What could go wrong
The job works on copies of files you send and returns files and a report. Nothing in your store or helpdesk is changed by us, so there is nothing to undo. Our copies of your files are deleted when the job ends.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| An invented spec passes because the source sheet is wrong too. | We trace to your source, not to the truth. The sheet says so, and unsupported claims are flagged, not passed. |
| Mass AI pages may be treated as spam by search engines. | We flag near-identical phrasing, and the job stops if the aim is many near-identical pages. |
| Feed text drifts from page text after the update. | The check compares page, feed and structured data for changed products. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your named person approves every fix and imports the clean file. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the products, source of truth, claim words and approved columns
- Receive the product export and the source sheet
- Trace every number, spec and claim to a source cell or flag it
- Plant our 10 defects in a 50-product copy; add your 10 sealed ones
- Run the audit; a separate automated reviewer checks it; build the clean file
- Hand over sheet, diff and file; you import after your own check
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss checking each new batch of AI copy before you import it.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Explore an ongoing managed lane, or mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Export before and after and compare them yourself in a spreadsheet, checking every product that changed.
- Ask the app that wrote the copy to cite its source for each fact.
Questions
Do you rewrite the copy?
No. We check it and list what to fix. Writing from supplier facts is a separate job.
Will it pass Google's checks?
We cannot promise that. We flag unsupported claims and note the AI-label attributes for feeds.
Can you check all my products?
Up to 150 at this price. More is quoted separately.
Does a pass mean it will be right next month?
No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- Which tool wrote the copy and roughly how many products
- Where the facts live (supplier sheet, spec table)
- Claim words you want flagged
- No store login or customer data
Later, once you agree
- A product export as CSV through an agreed secure route
- The source-of-truth sheet
- Your 30 chosen products and 10 planted defects, sealed until the test run
- The name of the person who approves fixes
You keep your store, your helpdesk and every login. We work on the files you send through a secure route agreed after you say yes, and hand back files and a report. We never ask for store or helpdesk logins, and nothing goes live until your named person applies it.
