Job store-price-change-proposals-within-your-floors · revised 12 October 2026

Get a script that proposes price changes inside your floors, for you to approve

A script and two trial weekly lists of price changes from your own rules, inside floors and caps enforced in code. It proposes only; you approve each change and nothing is applied for you.

You might be seeing

  • Slow movers sit at full price for months
  • You fear a repricing tool will push prices below cost

No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.

What usually happened

A tool that changes prices by itself can start a price war, sell below cost or be talked into discounts. The safe parts are the limits, which must be enforced in code and not left to a model's judgement. Owners want proposals they can approve one by one.

Who it’s for: Owner of a store who wants price ideas, such as marking down slow movers, but does not want any tool setting live prices on its own.

Usually starts when: You looked at AI repricing tools and liked the idea but not the loss of control.

The result: You get a rule set and a script that each week produce a list of suggested price changes. Floors, a weekly change cap and a maximum discount are enforced in code outside any AI model. Over a 14-day trial every list is proposals only and nothing is applied to your store.

Not included

  • Prices that differ by customer

  • Predicting sales or profit
  • Auto-approve of any proposal

How we know it’s done

Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.

  1. Across 1,000 generated and 100 inputs replayed from your own last four weeks of price and sales exports, every proposed price outside the floor, weekly cap or maximum discount is blocked and logged (100%, because this tests code, not a model).

Evidence: The test log and the limits file.

  2. In the 14-day trial, both proposal lists are proposals only and no price in your store is changed by us.

Evidence: The two lists and your store's price history.

  3. Your named person switches the weekly run off and restores the previous prices from the runbook in under 10 minutes.

    Evidence: The timed rehearsal log.

  4. The same inputs always give the same proposals when run twice.

    Evidence: Both outputs compared.

Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.

If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.

When it fits, and when we stop

It fits when

  • You have a floor per product, or buy the floor job first
  • You can export prices, stock and sales without customer data
  • A named person approves each proposal and applies the prices
  • You can restore previous prices from an export you keep

We stop and tell you if

  • The aim is to follow or coordinate with competitors' prices
  • You want proposals applied without your approval
  • You want prices that differ by customer
  • No floors exist and you will not set any

What could go wrong

The job works on copies of files you send and returns files and a report. Nothing in your store or helpdesk is changed by us, so there is nothing to undo. Our copies of your files are deleted when the job ends.

Scroll the table sideways to read it all.

RiskHow we handle it
A proposal goes below the floor or beyond the cap.Limits are code, not model judgement, and the test must show every out-of-limit input blocked and logged.
Prices end up aligned with competitors. The job uses only your own sales, stock and floors, never competitor prices.
A bad run changes many prices at once.Nothing is applied by us. You approve each line, and the restore procedure is rehearsed.

A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your named person approves every proposed change and applies it in your store. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.

How we deliver

We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.

  • Agree the rules, floors, weekly cap and maximum discount
  • Receive price, stock and sales exports
  • Write the script with the limits enforced in code
  • Test it on 1,000 generated and 100 replayed inputs from your own exports
  • Run two proposal lists over 14 days; you approve line by line
  • Rehearse the switch-off and restore; a separate automated reviewer checks; hand over

This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.

Need to keep it working?

Discuss a weekly proposals service, once the trial lists have been checked.

Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.

Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.

What you can check

This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.

Other ways to get this done

  • Review slow movers by hand each month and mark them down with a rule you write down.
  • Use the repricing tools in your platform, with a minimum price set in each.

Questions

Is an AI setting my prices?

No. Rules and limits are plain code. Where a model helps, it only drafts the rule text, and the limits do not depend on it.

Will it follow my competitors?

No. It uses your own sales, stock and floors only.

Can I turn it off?

Yes, and we rehearse that with you. Prices only change when you apply a proposal.

Does a pass mean it will be right next month?

No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.

Send an enquiry

Send us

  • Which rules you want to try
  • How many products and how you export prices
  • Whether you have floors
  • No store login or competitor data

Later, once you agree

  • Price, stock and sales exports through an agreed secure route
  • Floors per product
  • The caps you accept
  • The name of the person who approves and applies prices

You keep your store, your helpdesk and every login. We work on the files you send through a secure route agreed after you say yes, and hand back files and a report. We never ask for store or helpdesk logins, and nothing goes live until your named person applies it.

A public HTTPS link only, without login details, query strings or fragments. No code or logs.

Sending emails your enquiry and contact address to our team through our mail provider (Resend). It is not kept in a website database. Do not send passwords, keys, recovery links, confidential code or customer records. Your contact email is unverified; nothing is ordered, charged or reserved. Privacy notice.
