Job store-price-floors-and-below-floor-watch · revised 12 October 2026
Set a minimum price for up to 300 products from your costs, and see which are below it
A floor price for up to 300 products worked from your costs, fees, returns allowance and minimum margin, plus a checker that lists anything below its floor. We change no prices.
You might be seeing
- A product sold at or below cost after a sale or a bulk edit
- A bundle still sells at the price from before a component rose
No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.
What usually happened
A price is only safe if it stays above cost, fees, returns and the margin you need. Sale prices left on, rounding, bundles with stale component prices and bulk edits all push products below that line without anyone noticing. Automatic repricing makes it worse when nothing sets a hard floor.
Who it’s for: Owner of a store that has been undercut, edits prices in bulk or sells bundles, and wants a hard minimum price for each product.
Usually starts when: A competitor undercut you, a bulk edit set prices too low, or a bundle kept an old price after a component changed.
The result: You get a floor price for each of up to 300 products, worked from your costs by a written formula. You also get a checker that lists every product below its floor, every bundle out of step with its components and every sale price left on past its end date. No AI sets or changes a price, and we change nothing in your store.

How we know it’s done
Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.
Your reviewer recomputes 10 floors by hand and each matches the sheet to the penny.
Evidence: The recomputation beside the sheet.
In a test export with 10 planted breaches (below floor, stale bundle, sale price left on past its end date, rounding), 5 planted by us and 5 by your named person and kept from us until the test run, the checker flags all 10 and misses none (10 of 10 shows a true catch rate of at least 74% with 95% confidence; a smoke test). One missed breach fails the test.
Evidence: The planted list beside the checker output.
The checker's counts reconcile: products read equals flagged plus clear plus unchecked.
Evidence: The summary counts.
The floors and the checker rules are plain arithmetic in code outside any AI model, and run twice give the same list.
Evidence: The script and two outputs compared.
Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.
If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this fixed scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.
When it fits, and when we stop
It fits when
- You supply landed cost for each product
- You can export prices, compare-at prices and bundle components as CSV
- You give us the end date of each sale, or a list of sales that should have ended
- You decide the minimum margin and the returns allowance
- A named person acts on the list
We stop and tell you if
- The aim is to match or coordinate prices with named competitors
- You want us to change prices in your store
- Costs are not known for most products
- You want AI to set prices
What could go wrong
The job works on copies of files you send and returns files and a report. Nothing in your store or helpdesk is changed by us, so there is nothing to undo. Our copies of your files are deleted when the job ends.
Scroll the table sideways to read it all.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| A floor is wrong because a cost is wrong. | Floors use your costs as given. Your reviewer recomputes ten floors by hand, and products with no cost are listed. |
| Prices are set together with competitors. | The job uses only your own costs, never competitor data. A floor is not a price to follow. |
| A list is mistaken for a pricing recommendation. | The list says it shows prices below your floor only. It recommends no price. |
A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your named person recomputes ten floors and decides every price change. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.
How we deliver
We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.
- Agree the formula, margin, returns allowance and what counts as a breach
- Receive the cost sheet and price export
- Work each floor and write the checker as plain rules
- Plant our 5 breaches and your 5 sealed ones; run the checker
- Your reviewer recomputes 10 floors by hand; a separate automated reviewer checks the rest
- Hand over the sheet, script and first list
This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.
Need to keep it working?
Discuss a weekly below-floor list as a monthly service.
Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.
Explore an ongoing managed lane, or mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.
What you can check
This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.
Other ways to get this done
- Keep a cost column and a margin formula in a spreadsheet beside your price export.
- Set a minimum price inside a repricing app, if you use one.
Questions
Is any of this AI?
The floors and the checker are plain arithmetic. Where an AI model helps, it is to read messy cost sheets, and the numbers are checked by script.
Will you match my competitors?
No. The floor comes from your costs. We do not use or coordinate with competitor prices.
Can it run every week?
You can re-run it yourself. A weekly service is also available.
Does a pass mean it will be right next month?
No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.
Send an enquiry
Send us
- How many products and bundles, and how you edit prices
- Which costs you know (landed cost, fees)
- Your minimum margin and a returns allowance
- No store login or competitor data
Later, once you agree
- The cost sheet and price export through an agreed secure route
- Your margin and returns allowance in writing
- Sale end dates for your current sales
- Five breaches of your own choosing for the test, kept from us until the test run
- The name of the person who acts on the list
You keep your store, your helpdesk and every login. We work on the files you send through a secure route agreed after you say yes, and hand back files and a report. We never ask for store or helpdesk logins, and nothing goes live until your named person applies it.
