Standing service

Have a sample of the prices your store showed audited against your rules every month

Each month sampled prices are checked against their rules, ceilings and notices. Pair and field-refusal tests run on a copy after reported changes, and you get a report.

This starts a conversation by email. Nothing is charged, and nothing is monitored, until we have agreed scope, access and terms with you in writing.

The responsibility you hand over

A rule that was right at launch can be edited, a field can be added and a template can lose its notice. Nobody reads the price log until a complaint arrives. Then nobody can show what each customer saw.

Who it’s for: Owner whose store shows personalised offers or prices and who wants evidence that the rules, the ceiling and the notice are still being followed.

Usually starts when: A customer complained about a price, you changed a rule, or your adviser asked for evidence of what was shown.

The result: Every month up to 100 randomly selected log rows are recomputed using the approved field values and rule versions effective when each price was shown. Sampled prices are checked against their ceiling and disclosure wording, and pair and field-refusal tests run on a copy after reported changes. You receive the results and limits of the checks, not a promise about all prices.

What stays true, and what we do about it

No response-time guarantee is published for this new service. A date for each monthly report is agreed in writing before it starts.

Hours are agreed in writing before the service starts. It runs once a month and is not staffed round the clock.

What must remain true

  • Every price in the month's sample equals what the rule list gives for that customer's approved fields
  • Every personalised price in the sample carried the disclosure line and none was above the ceiling
  • No rule reads a field that is not on the approved list

What we watch

  • A monthly export of the price log
  • The rule list, field list, ceiling and notice wording
  • Your list of rule and wording changes

WhenWhat we do
A month closes and the log export is available. We draw the sample, re-compute each price and send the report.
You change a rule, a field or the notice wording. We re-run the pair and refusal tests on a copy before you switch the change on.
A customer or adviser asks what was shown to one customer. We pull that customer reference from the log and show the rule behind each price.

We do on our own

  • Draw the sample and re-compute each price
  • Re-run the pair and refusal tests on a copy
  • Write the report

We ask you first

  • Any request to read customer names or contact details
  • Any change to a rule, setting or page in your own systems
  • Any wider access than the exports named here
  • Contacting your customers or anyone outside your team

We escalate to you when

  • A personalised price was shown without the disclosure line
  • A price was above the ceiling
  • A rule reads a field that is not on the approved list
  • The log has gaps

How you know it held. After the report is frozen, you choose 10 sampled rows without showing your verdicts to us and reproduce every verdict using the approved fields and rules effective when shown; a missed ceiling breach, wrong price, missing notice or forbidden field fails this report check.

How we keep it true

This service is never finished. Each month's report shows whether the things it watches stayed true, and it continues until you end it.

  1. Show different offers or prices to different customers, with a disclosure line and a log Job Optional

Rules you write decide which customers see which offer or price. Every personalised price carries a visible disclosure line, and a log records each price shown and the rule behind it.

Bought separately, each time it is needed; not part of the monthly fee

The one-off job; buy it first if you do not yet have one.

What is included, and what is not

  • The monthly report
  • The sample table with the seed
  • The pair and field-refusal test results
  • A list of rule or wording changes for you to decide

Included

  • One store and the rule list built under the one-off job or one you can show us
  • A random sample of 100 log rows each month, with the seed recorded
  • A check of the 100 sampled prices against the ceiling and disclosure wording effective when shown
  • A re-run of the frozen pair and field-refusal suites on a copy after any rule, field or notice change you report
  • A monthly report with counts and anything that needs a decision

Not included

  • Changing a rule, a price or the notice wording
  • Legal advice or approval of the wording
  • Reading any customer's name or contact details
  • Competitor data
  • Any promise about sales or compliance

How we know it’s done

Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.

  1. After the report is frozen, you choose 10 sampled rows without showing your verdicts to us and reproduce every verdict using the approved fields and rules effective when shown; a missed ceiling breach, wrong price, missing notice or forbidden field fails this report check.

Evidence: The seed, the 10 rows and your own results beside ours.

  2. The report states the sample size, the count above the ceiling, the count without the disclosure line and what it cannot show.

    Evidence: The monthly report.

  3. After a reported rule, field or notice change, the frozen pair and field-refusal suites run on a copy, and every wrong pair or allowed forbidden field is listed first with its case ID.

Evidence: The pair and field-refusal test results.

  4. No price, rule or notice has been changed by us.

Evidence: Your store's change history for the month; we hold no access.

Sign-off. You read each report, re-run the checks it lists and tell us whether the marks and limits still suit you. A month counts as delivered when you have the report.

If it fails. If we cannot do a month because an export is missing or has changed, we say so and do not guess. If the service is not working for you, you can end it at the end of any month.

When it fits, and when we stop

It fits when

  • A price log you can export with customer references and approved field values, without names or contact details
  • The rule list, approved field list and ceiling in writing
  • A named person who decides rule and wording changes

We stop and tell you if

  • The log is missing rows or was switched off
  • A rule uses a field that is not on the approved list and you will not remove it
  • Nobody on your side can change a rule

What could go wrong

The service reads exports and reports, so there is nothing to undo. Ending it leaves your systems exactly as they are; you keep every report.

Scroll the table sideways to read it all.

RiskHow we handle it
A sample of 100 rows misses a rare error. The report states the sample size and that a sample is a tripwire: it shows gross failure, not small error rates.
The report is read as a compliance statement. The report says it compares prices with your rules and gives no view on the law.
The log carries personal data. The log includes customer references and approved field values, with names and contact details removed.

A separate automated reviewer checks each report and the rerun results. Your named person checks the held-back price rows and decides every rule and wording change. No human supervisor from us is included unless the written agreement names one.

Stays with a person

  • You or your named person change every rule, field and notice
  • You hold the off switch

Access we would need

  • A monthly export with customer references, approved field values and effective rule, ceiling and notice versions, without names or contact details
  • A copy of the logic or a test store for the re-runs

Questions

Do you tell me if my pricing is lawful?

No. We compare what was shown with your own rules and ceiling. Your lawyer decides the law.

Do you change my rules?

No. We name the rule behind each issue and you decide.

Send an enquiry

Send us

  • Which store and which rule list
  • Roughly how many prices are shown a month
  • No logins, keys, customer data or payment details in the first enquiry

Later, once you agree

  • The monthly price log, the approved field values used for each row, and the rule, ceiling and notice versions effective at that time, with names and contact details removed
  • The rule list, field list, ceiling and notice wording
  • Your rule and wording changes, plus a runnable copy and the frozen pair and field-refusal suites with expected results

You keep the store and every login. We read an export with customer references, approved field values and effective rule, ceiling and notice versions, without names or contact details. We work on a copy and never change a price, a rule or a page.

A public HTTPS link only, without login details, query strings or fragments. No code or logs.
