Job store-live-repricing-inside-your-floors-and-caps · revised 12 October 2026

Let prices change on their own inside your floors and caps, with a log and an undo

A job changes prices by itself, only inside the floors, caps and daily change limit you set. Every change is logged, one step undoes it, and you hold the pause switch.

You might be seeing

  • Slow movers sit at full price until someone notices
  • A cost rise leaves prices too low for weeks
  • You edit prices by hand every week

No passwords, keys, card details or admin invites needed to start.

What usually happened

A tool that changes prices by itself can sell below cost, start a price war or be talked into discounts. The safe parts are limits that run as code outside any AI model, a log of every change and a way to undo them. Without those, owners rightly keep prices in their own hands.

Who it’s for: Owner of a store with many products who wants slow movers and cost changes handled without a person editing prices every week.

Usually starts when: You have tried a repricing app and do not trust it to act alone, or you spend hours each week editing prices by hand.

The result: A job in your own hosting account changes prices on its own, only inside the floor, ceiling and daily change limit you set for each product. Every change is logged, one step restores the day's prices, and a pause switch stops it. For the first 14 days it only proposes, and your named person switches it on.

How we know it’s done

Agreed with you before work starts. Each check produces evidence you keep.

  1. Across 1,000 generated smoke inputs and 100 buyer-held replay inputs, every out-of-limit or unlisted-product proposal is blocked and logged; the replay set includes floors, ceilings, step and daily limits, plus at least 20 allowed changes that must be applied on the copy. Any incorrect block, allowed out-of-limit change or missing log fails this check.

Evidence: The test log and the limits file.

  2. On a copy of your store, 20 changes are applied and then restored in one step, and every price equals its value before the changes.

Evidence: The before and after price exports and their diff, which must be empty.

  3. After the pause switch is set, the next scheduled run on the copy changes no price and the log shows the run as paused.

    Evidence: The run log.

  4. In the 14 days every list is proposals only, and your store's price history shows no change made by the job.

Evidence: The proposal lists and your store's price history.

  5. For the 20 applied changes on the copy, each store-history change has one matching log row with the right product, old and new price, rule and time; no extra row or missing change is allowed.

Evidence: The store history and matching log rows.

Sign-off. You re-run the acceptance checks with the steps we hand over, read the results and sign off in writing. Payment follows sign-off.

If it fails. If an agreed check fails, you do not pay for this scope. We hand over what we found and agree whether to stop or re-quote; no surprise work.

When it fits, and when we stop

It fits when

  • A floor for every product, or buy the floor job first
  • A store account where you can create and revoke the documented product-write credential; a customer-run code layer exposes only price changes to this job
  • Your own hosting account to run a scheduled job
  • A named person who watches the 14 days of proposals and switches the job on

We stop and tell you if

  • The aim is to match or track competitors' prices
  • You want it live with no period of proposals only
  • You want prices that differ by customer
  • No floors exist and you will not set any
  • You want a token that can also read orders or customers

What could go wrong

The job writes only to prices, and every change is in the log. The restore step puts back the previous prices for one day or one product from that log. Revoking the token or using the pause switch stops it at once.

Scroll the table sideways to read it all.

RiskHow we handle it
A price goes below the floor or above the ceiling.Limits are code, not model judgement. The test must show every out-of-limit input blocked and logged, and one failure fails the whole test.
A bad rule changes many prices at once.A daily limit caps how many products change, and one step restores the day's prices from the log.
A message or a competitor talks the job into a price. The job reads only your own sales, stock and costs. It reads no customer or competitor text.
The token is misused. The platform credential may allow broader product edits; it stays in your account, a code layer limits this job to prices, and you can revoke it.

A separate automated reviewer checks the work and the test results before hand-over. Your named person watches the 14 days of proposals, switches the job on, holds the pause switch and can restore prices. No human supervisor from us is included unless your agreement names one, and at launch the work is largely automated.

How we deliver

We arrange the work and independent review, then show you the result against the agreed checks. You keep authority over your systems.

  • Agree rules, floors, ceilings, daily limit and who holds the switch
  • Receive price, cost, stock and sales exports for a test store
  • Write the job with every limit enforced in code outside any model
  • Test the limits on 1,000 generated and 100 replayed inputs
  • Run 14 days of proposals only; your person approves each list
  • Rehearse pause and restore on a copy; review separately and hand over

This is a one-off job, not emergency cover or a subscription. We confirm eligibility, price, start window and delivery date in writing before you accept, and work starts only after the agreed inputs are in place. An enquiry creates no charge or booking.

Need to keep it working?

Discuss the monthly log review once the job has run live for a month.

Ongoing work is separately scoped and quoted: no monitoring, response-time guarantee or automatic subscription is included in this job.

Mention the responsibility you need in your enquiry.

What you can check

This is a new service. We have not delivered this job for a client yet.

Other ways to get this done

  • Use your platform's own automatic discount tools, with a minimum price in each.
  • Buy the proposals-only job and apply each change yourself.

Questions

Is an AI setting my prices?

No. The rules and limits are plain code. Where a model helps it only drafts the rule text, and no limit depends on it.

Will it follow my competitors?

No. It uses your own sales, stock and costs only, and setting prices together with competitors can be unlawful.

Can I turn it off?

Yes. You hold the pause switch, you can revoke the token, and one step restores the day's prices from the log.

Why does it only propose for the first 14 days?

So your person sees what the job would do to your real prices before it is allowed to act.

Does a pass mean it will be right next month?

No. A pass describes items like the test sample on the day of the test. It is not a promise about future items, and it does not replace your own checking.

Send an enquiry

Send us

  • Which rules you want to try
  • How many products, and where prices are kept
  • Whether floors exist
  • Your platform and where you would run a scheduled job
  • No logins, keys, customer data or payment details in the first enquiry

Later, once you agree

  • Price, cost, stock and sales exports through an agreed secure route
  • Floors, ceilings, step and daily limits, plus a 100-case replay set with expected blocks and allowed changes held by you until acceptance; replace any cases used for fixes
  • A test-store connection configured by you, then a live connection only when you decide; the credential stays with you and its platform permissions are written down
  • The name of the person who watches the proposals and holds the pause switch

You keep your store, hosting and credentials; we build on a copy and you install the job. Your credential may allow wider product edits, but a code layer exposes only price changes and blocks other fields. We never hold it, and your named person enables automatic runs after the proposal period.
