Put a floor under every price
A floor is the lowest price you will accept: landed cost, payment fees, a returns allowance and your minimum margin, worked into one number. Bulk edits, left-on sale prices and bundles with old component prices push products below it unnoticed. Check every price against its floor each week.
Alerts first, automation later
In one thread most posters would not match a competitor's price automatically, and four favour an alert instead; the opener and one of those four build monitoring tools. Matching a competitor automatically also carries legal risk if it follows an agreement with them. Use your own costs, and decide each price change yourself.
Plan reorders from the days you could sell
A sold-out day is not a day nobody wanted the product. Remove those days from demand before you work a reorder point, and give each product its own point. See the worked example for the size of the difference.
Which paid job fits
The floors job works a floor per product and checks your prices. The weekly list repeats the check. The proposals job suggests changes inside your floors for you to approve.
The reorder jobs build and refresh a sheet from your own sales. We change no price and place no order.
